From a very early age, Gordon knew that creating things from wood was his soul purpose. Throughout middle school and high school his favorite portion of the day was entering the sanctuary of the woodshop where his spirit would rise to its pinnacle as he produced articles of beauty, usefulness and value. Through various positions with large construction companies over the years, Gordon gained significant knowledge of engineering and logistics associated with large projects, eventually becoming project foreman and ultimately moving on to operate his own company. Gordon’s company, Artisan Construction, was best known for building intricate staircases, installing crown molding and cornice detail, and restoring historical structures. His team was often called upon by other contractors to troubleshoot and repair complex problems that their own staff could not remediate.

Through more than 20 years as a general contractor in southern California, Gordon’s focus was primarily on customer service and the delivery of a high-quality product. He is proud of how that philosophy served him and his clients and it is with that same mindset that he approaches his newest venture returning to woodworking.

Always interested in the art of welding, Gordon completed a course where he learned the craft and precision of tig welding. TIG is a form of welding that yields a cleaner, more precise weld more suitable for furniture type applications. Having perfected the skill, Gordon is able to fabricate his own steel designs allowing more freedom in the custom design and also the ability to control the quality of the final product.

After many years acquiring much knowledge (and tools), Gordon returned to his soul’s passion; furniture design and manufacture. You can rest assured knowing that his heart and soul are deeply engrained in every quality piece that leaves his shop. “Just knowing that I’ve created something that will bring pleasure and utility to someone’s home or office for years to come is overwhelmingly fulfilling. Everyone should be able to do the type of work that brings such fulfilment to the soul.”
